Robert Bakes Executive Director
Robert joined Covenant in 2022. Originally from Peoria, Arizona, Robert began his healthcare career providing behavioral health services to adolescents and adults in 2007. The following year, he moved to Denver to lead a care community serving individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Robert has served in leadership roles in assisted living communities, skilled nursing facilities, and care campuses ever since, most recently as Executive Director of a 237-bed care campus located in Denver.
A Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and Assisted Living Residence Administrator, Robert regularly facilitates training for the Colorado Assisted Living Administrator Training Program and adjuncts at local colleges. He holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, where he played college football.
In his free time, Robert enjoys the outdoors with his wife and two children and competes in long-distance trail running events in the beautiful Rocky Mountains.
Justin Martinez Associate Executive Director
With over a 25 year career in the senior living industry, Justin has worked in a variety of roles and different levels of care. Justin also has a masters degree in Healthcare Administration and Business Administration, giving him a wealth of knowledge to share with the Colorado team. Justin joined Covenant Living of Colorado in December of 2021 as the Associate Executive Director. In his role, Justin works as a resident advocate across all levels of care on the Covenant Living of Colorado campus following his life mantra “The simple act of caring is heroic – Edward Albert”.
Jenna Butterfield Healthcare Administrator
Jenna joined Covenant Living of Colorado in 2020 as part of our Administrator in Training program through the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and now serves as our Healthcare Administrator. Jenna’s love of the Lord and her passion for serving seniors, staff and families alike is evident to all who know her. She is always expressing “the importance of the team”.
Gerry Hinderliter Director of Human Resources
Garry joined Covenant Living of Colorado in December of 2019 after serving for seven years as a Human Resources Manager for the City and County of Denver. Being in Human Resources for his entire career, he has supported many different industries. He has worked in San Francisco for Catholic Healthcare West (now Dignity Health), in Portland Oregon for the American Orient Express, and in Boulder for a telecommunications firm. Garry attained his Master’s Degree in Management from San Francisco State University, holds certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and in Change Management, and enjoys finding opportunities to use math in the workplace. He loves his job, the residents he serves, and the amazing people he works with. Garry lives by the axiom: “There is no problem we can’t solve together.”
Anna SeChrist Sales Director
Anna received a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Colorado State University, shortly after she started working with seniors and fell in love with the industry. Joining the Covenant family in 2021, Anna helps seniors thrive, enjoy life and most importantly give peace of mind. Her compassion for seniors doesn’t stop with the move-in, they become family that she continues to nurture and care for. Anna has worked in independent living, assisted living and memory care communities, and truly enjoys helping seniors find a community that is the right fit.
Melanie Land Resident Life Director
Melanie has worked in leadership roles in Senior Living for over a decade and joined Covenant Living in 2016. Previously she worked in our Health Care building providing oversight for all aspects of the Life Enrichment Program for just over four years prior to moving to her current role as Resident Life Director. As the Resident Life Director, she helps residents continue to excel through their passions, find new talents and enjoy life to the fullest. Her team does it all and loves bringing fun, exciting and new programming to our campus across all levels of care.

Stephanie Manley Director of Philanthropy
Stephanie Manley joined the Covenant Living of Colorado team as the Director of Philanthropy in November 2020. Stephanie focuses on expanding philanthropic efforts for the Benevolent Care Fund. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration. Prior to Covenant, she spent 14 years with HCA Healthcare at The Medical Center of Aurora, where she led the hospital’s community program for seniors and volunteer program. She created and led a community partnership program combining staff, volunteers, and physicians’ efforts to donate over $600,000 and 22,000 volunteer hours to local non-profit organizations. Her experience includes serving as the Director of Development at the Food Bank of the Rockies, the largest non-profit hunger-relief organization in Colorado where she was responsible for a $6 million fundraising budget with an annual increase of 3% in financial donations.
James Williams Dining Director
James is a Colorado Native who started working in food services in high school. He joined Covenant in 2019 as the Dining Room Manager and was promoted to Director in 2021. James enjoys creating a culinary experience for our residents and getting their feedback to make the experience even more personalized. In his free time James is a member on the #6 Men’s Roller Derby Team in the world and enjoys reading, watching movies and of course trying new restaurants.
Kay Sorvik Chaplain
Chaplain Kay has served at Covenant Living of Colorado since 2013. Originally from Minnesota, Kay grew up camping in Colorado frequently. It came as a great joy for her to discover this place of ministry as the perfect fit for her gifting. In all that she does, Chaplain Kay desires that the values and mission of this community, to love God and our neighbor, are lived out in her life so that our residents feel encouraged and supported. She is devoted to lifelong learning and is blessed through growing meaningful relationships with the residents of this special community.
